Privacy policy
In short: we only use your details to tell you about mahjong in the DR, on the channels you agree to, and we never sell them.
Last updated: 31 October 2026
What we collect
When you join the community: name, email, WhatsApp or mobile number (optional), city, experience level, styles you're interested in and whether you'd like to host. We also store which channels you agreed to, the date, language, approximate country you connected from and browser, so we can show your consent.
What we use it for
- Telling you about open tables, classes, tournaments and mahjong news in the Dominican Republic.
- Grouping people by city, level and style to organise tables.
- Contacting you if you said you'd like to host.
Your consent, channel by channel
Email, SMS and WhatsApp have separate checkboxes. We only contact you on the channels you ticked. For email we also ask you to confirm your address. You can withdraw consent at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to an SMS or WhatsApp, or write to hola@mahjong.do.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your data. It is stored with providers that run the technical service (Amazon Web Services for the database, accounts and confirmation emails; Cloudflare for the site; and the email and messaging services we use, such as Twilio), who may only use it for that. We never show your phone number publicly.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are part of the community. If you unsubscribe from every channel or ask us to delete your data, we do so within 30 days.
Your rights
Under the Dominican Republic's personal data protection law (Ley 172-13), you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use. Write to hola@mahjong.do.
